What is Asbestos Testing?

Asbestos testing is the process of analysing suspected asbestos-containing materials to confirm whether asbestos is present and identify the type of asbestos fibres. Testing is carried out by a UKAS accredited laboratory using samples collected by our trained surveyors.

When Do You Need Asbestos Testing?

Asbestos testing is recommended when you suspect materials in your property may contain asbestos, before carrying out any renovation or maintenance work on older buildings, when buying or selling a property built before 2000, and when an asbestos survey has identified suspected materials requiring laboratory confirmation.

How Does the Process Work?

Our accredited surveyor will visit your property and safely collect samples from suspected asbestos-containing materials. Samples are then sent to a UKAS accredited laboratory for analysis. You will receive a full written report with laboratory certificates confirming the results within a fast turnaround time.

Types of Asbestos We Test For

We test for all three main types of asbestos — Chrysotile (white asbestos), Amosite (brown asbestos), and Crocidolite (blue asbestos) — as well as all other asbestos fibre types.
